Good morning blog friends,
Happy Saturday, and happy December! It's been chaotic over here in Alfred because the semester is winding down. As an art student, we typically do critiques a week before finals week so I have what I call Finals Week: The Extended Edition. This is a blessing and a curse. I have a lot of extra time but I also wish it was all one week so I could get out of here super fast and not feel like I'm wasting time. Anyway, here's a ton of artwork!
Speaking of critique, here's my family tree of pots all on their shelves. Each pot has a person attached to them at home.
Gabi, Jess, and I had a lovely time at group crit last night and for crit clean up. I have learned I am pretty bad with a screw gun. Yikes.
We also made laser cut prints this week. How cool is that? The drawing is at the top and the print with the laser cut is on the bottom. I love how you can see the wood grain of where the ink seeps in.
And then we played around with a larger steel plate etching. These are always semi dangerous because we have to use an acid and water mixture, also the steel can be sharp. One of these prints has a lot of ink, the other very little. I may color some in, not sure yet.
Alright! Gotta go study. I'll be back in Massachusetts on Wednesday! Hooray!
Xo,
Emma
