For my Studio Make class we started amazing drawings that we had to translate into sculptures. Our first step was to draw on the floor (we put paper down first). We couldn't use our hands to draw so we used our mouth, foot, elbow, anything! The result was super funky paper.
After, we got a partner and did blindfolded drawings. The person drawing wore the blindfold and the second person traced shapes on the blindfolded person's back to direct the drawing.
After, the blindfolded person got an object and described it to the drawing person. The drawing person now had a blindfold too and that created an entirely different experience.
Finally, we used a projector to make shadows on paper and traced around the shadows.
Little did we know this all would become material for another drawing. Here's mine:
Now, we have to take parts of our drawing and make a sculpture. The sculpture will be paper machéd and painted white.
I'll let you see when I'm finished!
