Hi blogging friends!
I am back at school from thanksgiving break! I hope you all had wonderful holidays and ate loads of turkey. (I definitely did) I had my final critique on Monday and I think it went pretty well! They want me to do more observational drawing, but they want everyone to do that usually so I'm not too worried about that. They were also interested in the literary influences of my artwork. One of my professors noticed that I use a lot of fantastical illustrative qualities in my work and wondered where it derived from, the bookstore perhaps?
In addition to that, I've been working on another endeavor. I have started to make baby blankets with animals in the center. They're referred to as snugglies by a lot of people in the knitting and crochet world. I'm making the pattern up as I go and writing it down. Maybe I'll sell the pattern some day! Here's my first one: it took me 2 days to make.
He's a sleeping lion! I'm very excited to make several of them, they're quick and very satisfying to create.
Have good weekends! I come home on Saturday! Yay!
Xo,
Emma
